Percept designed the branding and signage for this Sydney based petrol company and retail chain of convenience stores.
The brief was to clearly differentiate Westside from the larger multi-national players, whilst maintaining a high level of credibility and reliability, an area where smaller independent companies often fall short.
Percept began the process with an industry brand audit which assessed and compared all of Westside’s competitors.
This determined the attributes a new branding would require to belong to the category, whilst highlighting the areas which the company could leverage for effective stand-out in the petroleum and retail sectors.
Concept development, design, design refinement and artwork then followed. Options were presented to the client with rationales for their consideration.
Encouraging their input into the project, the process went back and forth a few times until all stakeholders were fully satisfied with the new branding.
Finished artwork was then rolled-out and a brand style guide was created for ease of implementation.
The retail store signage and petrol station branding was implemented for multiple sites across Sydney as the chain began to grow.
The style guide that Percept had created for these signage systems were used as instructions for the roll-out. This helped the wide variety of third party suppliers and installers to ensure a consistent brand image was achieved.
