Case Study

Branding Strategy by Brand Designer, Percept

The Challenge

W&S Plastics is a family owned business established in 1978, manufacturing custom injection moulded products and post-moulding activities, specialising in medical, industrial engineering and promotional fields.

Their challenge for Sydney branding agency, Percept, as the brand designer, was to develop a branding strategy and visual identity design that would reposition their company, reflecting W&S Plastic’s high quality technical capabilities and their status as a multi-national organisation.

The Solution

After a visual assessment and branding strategy workshop with the key stakeholders, the brand designer, Percept, developed a new direction for W&S Plastics that features a brand positioning as a forward thinking company.

Through the clever use of typography, brand designer, Percept, developed a logo design that followed the outcome of the branding strategy for the project. It is indicative of the company’s streamlined and innovative services. The lockup of the ampersand and ‘s’ symbolises collaboration, precision and progressive thinking. The teal colour adds a modern yet professional feel, showcasing W&S Plastics’ philosophy to continually develop their processes to be at the cutting edge of their field.

The new branding strategy and visual identity was applied to corporate collateral, and office signage was also developed for their new Malaysian plant, which included outdoor, reception and way finding office signage. This roll-out presented the perfect opportunity for brand designer, Percept, to let the new branding design show its character with clever usage of the ampersand device throughout.
