Case Study

Brand Packaging Designers

The Challenge

Dulux are known for high quality paints and related products. Market research shows that experienced painters are confident in choosing accessories based on personal knowledge and experience, while non-professionals rely more on intuition with value for money being a key factor influencing purchase decision. Seeing opportunity to tap into this DIY market, Dulux wanted to introduce a new mid-range suite of accessories and needed to partner with packaging designers that could communicate effectively to this everyday audience.

Having worked with together on many successful packaging design projects for brands within DuluxGroup’s offerings, they knew that packaging designers, Percept, would deliver the results.

The Solution

In the new packaging design, brand recognition is key. Packaging designers, Percept, intentionally kept things simple by utilising and amplifying Dulux’s most recognised brand assets: the logo, Dulux dog and blue colour.

Strong pack hierarchy is also integral to the new packaging design, ensuring everyday consumers have clear visual access to key information such as the type of accessory, size and purpose for easy purchasing decisions when in-store. The packaging designers at Percept are specialists in branding and visual communication, which certainly helped make this a successful packaging design project for Dulux.
