Packaging agency, Percept, was selected as the brand designer for this naturally beautiful vodka. The identity design that Percept developed, reflects the pristine waters and purity of this renowned glacier in Sweden. Brand Assessment

Packaging agency, Percept, took time to sit down with the founders of Onera vodka for a brand workshop. The purpose was to discover what made this product so special, so the identity design and packaging could be centred around the one core idea.

In the workshop session, brand designer, Percept, uncovered an untapped opportunity to leverage the unique story of Sweden’s Storglaciären Glacier — a natural marvel, which is an emblem of purity and timelessness.

By auditing competitors and identifying market gaps, the brand workshop shaped the design strategy built around a story steeped in glacial heritage, giving Onera the brand positioning of a premium vodka with a uniquely Nordic identity design.

 

Design Strategy

The design strategy is built around the vodka’s deep connection to Storglaciären, a powerful symbol of untouched natural beauty and purity, traits shared by the product itself.

By incorporating glacier-fed water from this world-renowned Swedish glacier and combining it with meticulous triple-distillation techniques, Onera proudly presents a high quality offering, in a vodka that represents Scandinavian elegance and precision.

The packaging design features a blue frosted bottle that draws inspiration directly from the icy landscapes the product originates from, establishing the vodka as a luxurious and authentic spirit. Packaging agency, Percept, intended to create a distinguished brand with a sophisticated and clean identity design to represent the product and set it apart in the highly saturated liquor market.

Brand Positioning

Brand Story — Onera Vodka draws its essence from the ancient Storglaciären Glacier, where the earth’s raw power and the passage of time collide.

Crafted using the glacier’s pure, untouched water, Onera’s triple distillation process captures the spirit of Sweden’s rugged, untamed landscape — icy, unyielding, and awe-inspiring. Just as the Viking explorers once braved these vast frozen expanses, Onera embodies strength, endurance, and the elemental forces that shape the world.

Encased in a striking blue bottle, reminiscent of the glacier’s deep, icy waters, Onera offers a taste of nature’s most pristine moments — cool, crisp, and refined. Identity Design

The identity design is a modern tribute to the Storglaciären Glacier. The frosted blue bottle of the packaging captures the serenity and grandeur of the glacier’s icy landscape, while the vertical wordmark conveys a contemporary boldness.

The tagline, “The Last Great Ice Age,” ties the product to the glacial waters, reinforcing identity design with authenticity and heritage. The use of serif typography on the label conveys timeless craftsmanship, while clean and minimal identity design elements reflect Scandinavian precision and sophistication.
