The Challenge

Haymes Paint are Australia’s largest independently owned paint manufacturer of exterior and interior paint with hundreds of paint stores around Australia.

They approached Percept for a packaging design and artwork project. To fall in-line with the redesigned Haymes Paint brand, paint tins and paint brushes, we were to roll out that look and feel to their new range of paint rollers.

It was important to maintain the consistency across all products including paint tins and brushes with key information such as material type, frame length and pack size being highlighted as key attributes to consider

The Solution

Established and recognisable elements such as the Haymes ‘wave’ and iconic blue and gold colours are included on the new packaging design and artwork. This reinforces the connection to their extensive existing range, with space created for the logo and content to communicate with clarity.

Clear pack and content hierarchy was developed to allow for easy recognition and product differentiation on shelf. Further key information was focused on with NAP length and size detail highlighted with a vibrant hero colour. These vibrant colours were assigned to each roller material type and can be seen across the range to identify product variations.

Key attributes of each roller material type were highlighted on the packaging design and artwork with clean, sophisticated roundels which have prominent hierarchy on pack for ease of recognition.

High quality gold foil is executed as a print treatment on pack to further contribute to the products quality and brand colours that consumers have come to recognise from Haymes.
