The Challenge

There is a growing need for extra storage in metropolitan Sydney due to the rise of apartment dwellers and small business owners. Urbanbox offers privately owned strata storage units, perfect for those who have run out of room and need a solution that is secure and safe.

The objective for branding agency, Percept, was to develop naming and a brand identity that would have a strong presence and be easily recognisable. The project called for a brand that felt secure and trusted, one customers would want to invest in.

The Solution

Following a brand workshop with the client that decided the brand positioning, Percept created the name ‘Urbanbox’. It’s a memorable name that rolls off the tongue and captures the company’s ethos – revolutionising life.

After the brand naming, a confident, bold brand identity was then designed to communicate strength and quality. The icon displays a ‘U’ housed and protected by solid walls, playing off the idea of Urbanbox being a safe place, that provides the extra secure space that’s needed in today’s life.

Simple yet effective, the monochromatic colour palette ensures the brand is recognisable from afar. In addition to the brand naming and identity design project, Percept were also asked to investigate potential finishes to aid in the development of the first facility; from lighting to wall textures and way-finding signage.

The result is a strong name and brand identity that holds its own in the busy city-scape of Sydney.
