Case Study

Branding Strategy and Brand Identity by Percept Brand Agencies

In search of brand agencies, this construction industry client engaged Percept for their branding strategy expertise.

The Westbuilt Group is Queensland’s leading builder of quality transportable, relocatable homes, and prefabricated, modular buildings for industries such as mining.

Although based in Queensland, they selected Percept for branding strategy services. The main reason for this is because of Percept’s reputation among the top brand agencies in Australia for branding strategy and brand identity design.

When briefing Australian brand agencies for the project, the client felt that brand architecture was a key deliverable. Because of this, in the initial branding strategy as well as when creating the Westbuilt Group brand identity, it was crucial for brand agency, Percept, to keep the design flexible enough to accommodate a roll out to the two arms of the company, Westbuilt Homes and Westbuilt Modular.

Westbuilt Homes provides the highest quality prefabricated homes, where Westbuilt Modular supplies modular accommodation and other onsite building needs. These companies needed a branding strategy and brand identity that would graphically represent what they did, whilst still remaining a family.

In order to establish themselves in a highly saturated building and construction market, the brand identity had to have cut through and clearly represent quality, strength and reliability. They said it was for this reason, that they chose to work with Percept from among the top brand agencies in Australia.

A customised typeface was developed for the unified brand identity. Then the branding strategy segregated each of the three companies by allocating them their own corporate colour. These colours have become cornerstones of the brands, in both print and web applications. Customised icons were also developed, and are used as a graphic representation of the companies.

The branding strategy by Percept stipulated that the visual theme then rolled out through the stationery, which represents the Group as a modern, trustworthy, and dependable company. It appeals to a variety of industries, from mining and resources accommodation, right through to residential homes.

The next deliverables for the brand agencies that Percept was selected from, for this brand identity project were printed marketing communications as well as the website design. The website design would have separate linked sites for both Homes and Modular.

The purpose of the website design was to reinforce the new brand identity, informing the user and maximising their online presence in order to generate as many leads as possible.

The website design utilises the colour themes and graphics established in the initial brand identity in order to maintain a consistent brand message, while making the websites clearly individual in their message and target audience.

The brand identity package for this company included logo design, corporate stationery, printed marketing communications and of course, website design. These elements combine to create the solution for all of the client’s requirements.
