Branding Design & Environmental Signage Design
As a chain of new petrol stations in Australia, Westside Petroleum commissioned branding design experts Percept as the brand agency for their new company branding design and environmental signage design.
The brief for brand agency, Percept, was to clearly differentiate Westside from the larger multi-national players, whilst maintaining a high level of credibility and reliability in the branding design, an area where smaller independent companies often fall short.
Brand agency, Percept, began the branding design and environmental signage design process with an industry brand audit which assessed and compared the branding design of all of Westside’s competitors in Australia.
This determined the attributes a new branding design and environmental signage design would require to belong to the category, whilst highlighting the areas which the company could leverage for effective stand-out in the petroleum and retail sectors.
Branding strategy, concept development, branding design, design refinement and artwork then followed. Options were presented to the client with rationales for their consideration.
Encouraging their input into the project, the process went back and forth a few times until all stakeholders were fully satisfied with the new branding design and environmental signage design.
Finished artwork was then rolled-out by the brand designers of Percept and a brand style guide was created for ease of implementation.
The retail store and petrol station branding design was implemented for multiple sites across Sydney and then Australia as the chain began to grow.
The brand style guide that Percept’s brand designers had created for these environmental signage systems were used as instructions for the roll-out. This helped the wide variety of third party suppliers and installers to ensure consistent branding design was achieved across numerous different sites.
